We cordially invite you to attend in the 5th International Conference «Resources, Environment and Regional Sustainable Development in Northeast Asia» dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the V.B. Sochava Institute of Geography SB RAS, which will be held both online and offline on August 23-26, 2022 in Irkutsk at the V.B. Sochava Institute of Geography SB RAS.


The conference will be a platform for collaborative search for solutions to fundamental scientific issues in the field of optimal ecologically oriented nature management and the life of the population, sustainable development of transboundary territories and regions with close external environmental and socio-economic ties with the countries of North-East Asia. The conference will focus on changing natural complexes under the conditions of increasing anthropogenic impact at the global level, on preservation of the environment and the interaction of countries and organizations both in transboundary areas and in regions of joint socio-economic interest. We are going to consider the possibilities of applying objective methods of processing geographic information, new spatiotemporal models for the analysis and development of strategies for sustainable environmental management, green economy and regional development, geoinformation, remote and cartographic methods for analyzing and presenting data on the current state, temporal dynamics and transformation natural and socio-economic systems
Taking into account the new conditions of scientific and economic activities, the redistribution of financial, tourist, and other resource flows, new trends in the domestic socio-economic and regional policy of Russia as a result of the changed post-pandemic reality, it is planned to organize a subject-matter round table to discuss current issues and opportunities for the development of Siberia and adjacent territories, distribution and redistribution of natural and socio-economic resources, positive and negative changes in the current situation and adaptation of regions to new conditions.
Within this conference, we intend to establish new scientific contacts and strengthen existing cooperation in the field of territorial development, environmental protection and ecology to find common ground and constructive suggestions for the modernization of the regional economies, transport and social infrastructure, and realization of the principles of green economy and nature management. Scientific meetings with the participation of invited lecturers and experts, thematic discussions of joint projects are scheduled to be held.

Main Directions of the Conference:


1. The role of the cross-border factor in the rational use of resources, environmental management and the formation of green economy.
2. Sustainable development of the regions of Northeast Asia under global change.
3. Transformation and dynamics of natural and natural-anthropogenic complexes and their components.
4. New methods and technologies for processing geographic information using remote sensing, GIS and mathematical modeling in research of environment and sustainable regional development.
5. The role of geographical education in modern concepts of sustainable development.

Within the conference, a round table focused on «Level of Lake Baikal: impact on the ecosystem, economy and infrastructure of the Baikal natural territory»will be organized. We invite all interested parties to cooperation and participation in the discussion. The proposals for the round table schedule should be sent to the Organizing Committee.

ROUND TABLE PROGRAMM

Conference abstracts will be published electronically by the beginning of the conference and will be placed in the RSCI citation database.
Selected presentations by full-time participants in the form of articles in English based on the results of a preliminary review will be published in the anglophone Special Issue of the Journal Geography and Natural Resources and the Special Issue of the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, indexed in Scopus/Web of Science. The financial terms of publication and article submission guidelines and deadlines will be announced later. Approximately until September 1, 2022.

Conference Abstract Requirements:


1. Abstracts are provided in English.
2. The text volume: 1 page, Times New Roman 12pt, single-spaced, margins: left - 3 cm, upper and lower - 2 cm, right - 1.5 cm.
3. Sequence: first line is the title in bold capital letters aligned to center, the second is a space, the third is the authors' names in italics aligned to center, the fourth is the affiliation of the authors in italics aligned to center, the fifth is the e-mail in italics aligned to center, the sixth is a space, then the text of the theses is aligned to width, paragraph 1.25.
4. References to literary sources, if necessary, are given in text in parentheses indicating the name of the author and year of publication.


Participants are responsible for arranging their own hotel accommodation in Irkutsk. Exception for group members only.
Documents for issuing visas to foreign participants can be provided at the request of participants who have registered and paid the Registration Fee.
